In comparison with wehrmacht version, German Luftwaffe knife had a guard and a double-sided sharpening. The handle is made of wood, fastened with three rivets. Metal scabbards were painted black and had a clip for wearing on uniforms or boot tops.
The blade was stamped with the image of an eagle and the acceptance number.
The Luftwaffe combat knife was in service with the German army from 1942 until the end of world war II. It was mainly used by paratrooper units.
